BIOGRAPHY OF PASTOR BOB

Pastor Bob

 Our Pastor has been serving our church since February 25, 2001. An ordained minister of the United Church of Christ, he came to us from First Congregational, Vernon, where he served as Director of Christian Education from 1999-2001. He serves us in a part time capacity, working full time as a Counselor at South Windsor High School, where he is also the Varsity Baseball Coach. He has worked in Education for over thirty years and his ministerial experience includes nine years as a Roman Catholic clergyperson as a Permanent Deacon. In addition, he served several Roman Catholic parishes as a Director of Religious Education and Youth Minister. He has conducted hundreds of Retreats and workshops for both high school students and adults.

His particular interests in ministry include Adult Education, Youth Ministry, social justice issues, ecumenism, and the development of welcoming church communities. His personal interests include reading, following sports ( in particular, baseball), involvement in causes dealing with justice and peace, and playing golf.

Married since August 23, 1980 to Patricia Coppinger LaRochelle, he and Tricia have three children:  Brian, 23, a graduate of Holy Cross wth a degree in History, Kathleen, 21, a senior at St. Olaf College, majoring in Religion with a minor concentration in Linguistics and Stephen, 16, a sophomore at South Windsor High School. He is a native of Putnam, Connecticut.
